And in comes Pansy. Good on her: not that I totally agree, but it's nice to see someone taking on Hermione logically.

Anonymous @ February 3 2004, 08:42:57 UTC S.P.E.W arguments?

Am I the only one trying to see Hermione's side of the argument? Looking at it from a muggle point of view I think Hermione has some valid points. Perhaps looking at it from a wizard's point of view is not the thing to do, after all it is an accepted norm and House Elves are clearly a status symbol, of course wizards would not want that to change. I agree with her that it isn't right just because it is the norm, but I agree with Pansy too that there is no real harm in it since that is what House elves want to do. Something strikes me wrong about that statue in the fountain of the Magical Brethren at the Ministry, where a House Elf and some other magical creature are gazing adoringly up at the witch and wizard, though. I don't think Hermione is in the wrong here, although I think she is going about it in a way more detrimental to her cause than helpful.

I love that N_A has a plotline about S.P.E.W vs B.A.R.F! Only N_A! It's so cool.
