Hahaha, those guys are so great!!!! I love how the Hufflepuffs bring a sense of humour even during times like this.

I want one of Ernie's spare ski masks.

Yes--and ugh!

But I love the idea that the Gryffindors presumably wouldn't mind having their faces eaten. Also love the idea of Ernie's ski mask with one big hole. (I won't even ask how a rat couldn't get through a ski mask...)

The first thing I thought when I read the bit about keys was, doesn't Percy have a ton of keys? Not that I think that he let Peter out. But still, interesting, I guess.

There were two mentions of him with lots of keys, but this is the only one I can find.

And Draco uses the words "skeleton keys"....

Not to mention PS called him "Peter" in his entry. I know that he always calls Percy by the wrong name, but it still piqued my interest.

But I mean, the use of Peter instead of Percy makes my eyes dart all over. I think Draco is just be being a twit on purpose; the first times he called Percy 'Peter', it may have been slips, but then he's so observant - I feel he does it on purpose just to be annoying.

I doubt Draco calling Percy "Peter" has anything to do with whether or not he suspects Percy helped Pettigrew escaped, because Draco has ALWAYS called Percy "Peter". And yeah, he probably does it to be annoying. Or maybe to show that he simply can't be bothered to remember the Weasleys' real names.

Interesting about Percy having a skeleton key, though. I had completely forgotten about that.

As to whether or not Draco believes Percy had anything to do with Pettigrew's escape... well, first I gotta wonder why Draco would care. Is it because he is still firmly on the side of the Deatheaters and wants to know who is involved? Or is he more on the side of the "good", and worries what Pettigrew's escape might mean?

I guess my biggest question would be what benefit Draco would see in publicly speculating that Percy had anything to do with the escape, other than to ridicule a Weasley yet again.

Now that I think about it, he calls him Percy in COS, too so it's actually canon.

"WHAT IF SOMEONE TRAPS THE RAT IN A JAR AND THEN ONE OF THE DEATH EATERS TAKES US CAPTIVE UNTIL THEY GIVE THEM THE JAR BACK AND THEN SOMEONE GLUES THE JAR TO OUR FACE SO THE ONLY WAY THE RAT CAN GET OUT OF THE JAR IS BY EATING THROUGH OUR HEAD?!"

Forever and ever, amen. :x

I know it doesn't have aything to do with anything, but the whole rat/jar thing and Percy's saying how the Ministry wouldn't do that reminded me of the Rita Skeeter incident in GoF.

Don't know why they'd choose ski masks over hockey masks though. ;p

invader_todd @ April 16 2004, 22:30:15 UTC Wow... Percy?...

I admit, I've always been biased on Percy's behalf, and I've always known he was a closet Slytherin, but that Percy/Peter reference and the fact that Percy's got a LOT of keys... I dunno, it does sound rather fishy to me. And the fact that he was being SO completely anal about the toe thing, I think someone already mentioned that, I agree... Oh, Percy, dear, how could you do this??
