Mood: TOO MUCH HOMEWORK

What is seamus_f up to?

His second comment seems heavy with sarcasm.

Well, yeah! I think Seamus is pretty disgusted with ps (along with countless others), but has decided he's not going to waste his energy losing his temper with him.

We are twins.

I think the comment "Crazy what you could have had" definitely has to do with Harry. And Malfoy's response is almost heartbreaking. At least, to me it is.

Malfoy's response before the one you linked to, where he says, "Go away," I think was more heartbreaking. That one... "Go keep a stiff lip around your catatonic Weasley." That was just so out of line, imo.

It means "The more things change, the more they stay the same."

It seems like Draco banned Seamus from commenting. At least to me.

Ha, I was right.

Checkmate ends chess, a complex game that requires thought and a good sense of strategy. What game has ended here?

Harry also seems to be saying goodbye; is this the end of their relationship?

Sorry--I deleted that comment and rephrased it because I thought it might be taken the wrong way.

I haven't felt like Harry's said good-bye, actually. A punch in the nose is not exactly a good-bye for them! It could be the end...but then, there's not that many characters in the game. Eventually I think they have to interact.:-)

it wasn't harry, it was seamus using harry's account because malfoy banned seamus.

sistermagpie @ April 22 2004, 00:39:20 UTC

Oh -- I knew that. I didn't realize the above comment was thinking Harry was actually saying good-bye when Seamus was using his account but you're right--that was Seamus.:-)

Yes, Seamus and ps seem to definitely speak the same language.

And now ps has banned just_harry from posting in his journal because Seamus was using it. x_x

It seems to me that what Seamus is doing, other than venting spite, is similar to what other characters have been doing lately to others that appear to be fence-sitters between the "good" side and the "bad side". Seamus seems to be telling Draco that this is the line of division, that he must choose which side he's going to be on.

I think the closest parallel to this with other characters is Lupin's conversation with Narcissa on his own post. However, whereas Lupin used anger, Seamus is using bitter sarcasm, a tool that Draco tends to use himself. Also, Draco responds different to this pushing than his mother did. Narcissa makes it clear which side she's on, but Draco refuses to let on where his loyalties lie. Possibly (hopefully?) because he's not sure for himself.

Draco certainly isn't taking Seamus's badgering well, as shown when he bans Seamus from his lj, but he's not being as brutal as he could be. Whereas he could just ban any lj that Seamus turns up on, and in effect ban the people who tend to annoy him the most in his lj, he opts instead to unban Seamus.

And that's all the analysis I can do for tonight. Off to bed am I!

I was wondering, though, if he opted for unbanning Seamus just "so you can stop commenting with Potter's face now." Disconcerted by it, perhaps.
