I love Hooch. I do love her so much, but I have one tiny, tiny little complaint.

WHY DIDN'T SHE SAY ANYTHING ABOUT SNAPE!?!??!!

I am glad to hear from one of them, though. It's great to know that she's recovering, because she's one of my favorite characters.

Hooch seems to be feeling guilty. This makes me wonder if she was the first (or one of the first) to see the Death Eaters arrive, but maybe didn't realize who they actually were because she was "seeing zebras in her tea"? (I'm not sure if I should read this as her being drunk, or maybe too enamorated with Sibyll).

"And not paying real attention to things like my brother's stupid warnings or Lucius Malfoy or anything really.

Oh my. What or who did her brother warn her about, and what does she know about Lucius?

I think that her Lucius comment means paying attention to his entries on NA. Everyone is so used to seeing him plotting, but they never see anything come out of it, so they just ignore him now. And we do too, somewhat. Perhaps Sybil was just reading Hooch's tea leaves at dinner--or maybe they were in the tower and heard the celing crash in from there and Hooch went down? I wish I knew what teachers were in the Great Hall at the time.

No, wait, I just read her entry again, and Sibyll read her tea leaves earlier, so Hooch was probably just thinking about that when it happened and didn't notice them come in at first or something. I wonder why Hooch regrets not being brave like Severus. Evidently she was fighting; how else would she have gotten injured so badly like that? I doubt it was just an accident.
