She does seem to be developing a bit more of a spine, doesn't she. Here's hoping it lasts...

Bitchiness? I'd call that prudence.

So very proud of her. Well, she did keep the house elf, though- I guess you can't have everything ;-). Personally I'd be more worried about the house elf having its loyalties to Lucius and the Manor, but maybe I'm just overly paranoid.

Go Narcissa!

However, I'm wondering if there wasn't something in the alcohol Lucius sent over and now it's in Remus's well-water. We'll see when everyone gets back.

That would be interesting. We'll find out if anything happens to the kappas

Sirius seems to be irritated by her presence.

Anybody else seeing some parallels in Narcissa and Draco/Lupin and Harry in this situation? Just because Narcissa is so obliviously high maintenance probabl without realizing it and I think sometimes ps is the same way. He's just the type to kill a well full of fish and redecorate a house in chintz (okay, maybe not chintz) without asking and not seeing what the fuss is about.

This reminds me of one time my mother was buying something for a couple's wedding and she got something not in the pattern they were registered for because she claimed their version of the serving knife or whatever was ugly. And I was like, "Um, but Mom if they registered for the pattern doesn't it say that's what they want so you should get them that?"

And she responded, quite logically, "Yes, but they might develop good taste in the future and then they wouldn't be happy I'd sent them an ugly serving knife."

Sometimes my mom has some great ps moments.
