How cute! Terry bought her a paid account. :)

Hee! Check out the icon as well. "That is all you need to know." Somebody's trying to make Pansy jealous. I find it highly suspicious she is suddenly encouraging Terry so soon after Pansy hooks up with Draco *smirk*.

I wonder if she'll take Draco up on that offer for a double date. ;)

(parent)

moonlitpages @ April 22 2003, 18:47:59 UTC

*laughs* Oo, Millicent is quite bitter about this. I don't think she appreciated the offer at all ;-). I can just see it now if she did, though. Her and Pansy on one side of the table, sitting thisclose to each other, with Draco and Terry on opposite side each trying to one up the other in flowery romantic antics and hardly paying attention to their actual date at all *snerk*

(parent)

karabou @ April 22 2003, 18:36:26 UTC

I generally agree.. I think she is so taking a jab at Pansy and Draco. She does not seem pleased. Especially her and Pansy's exchange when Pansy posted about Draco being her boyfriend.

And what an icon... *snerk*

(parent)

notapipe @ April 22 2003, 18:36:17 UTC

And those TB/M.B. rings....

Why the sudden change of heart? Three theories (from a convicted Pansy/M.B.er):
1) Pansy is labouring under the illusion that Draco is serious, and has kicked M.B. out of her bed. Terry is picking up M.B. on the rebound. :(

2) Seeing the success that is the Pansy/Draco beard pairing, M.B. is apeing them.

3) Pansy and Millicent have always been a marriage of convience for Pansy, one that M.B. is more invested in. Pansy is perfectly willing to throw their nightly arrangement away for Draco, and now M.B. has nothing to turn down Terry for (or she is doing this out of spite).

I don't know if any of these are very good, though. Any better alternatives?

(parent)

moonlitpages @ April 22 2003, 18:54:13 UTC

Hmm- I still think that Pansy is much more aware of what she wants than Draco, given that she has Millicent in her bed and that telling poetry on her website. I think that if anyone is consciously using the relationship as a ruse is it Pansy rather than Draco. However, it's clear that Millicent does not like this one little bit. Even if she knew it was just a ruse in Pansy's mind, I doubt she appreciates all the lovey public antics and possibly being kicked out of Pansy's bed just for appearances sake. So, it seems to me this thing with Terry is a 'two can play at this game'/'taste of your own medicine' type of ploy. But that's just my take *shrug*.

(parent)

sistermagpie @ April 22 2003, 19:34:48 UTC

Yeah, I really do wonder about all of this. Pansy's ambitious but I don't think M.B. is the type to arrange her life to suit a fiction for anyone.

Remember right after Pansy posted that she and Draco had gotten together she invited him over saying her dorm was empty and Millicent pointed out that it WAS NOT. Pansy said: Millicent... Millicent said: Pansy...

and Draco said: Draco with his "I'm better than you" icon. This was also around the time that Draco said he was "generally fond" of Pansy. Things have been decided, here, without Millicent's consent.

I think if Millicent really wants to bring out the big guns she should naturally turn to j_h. It's not like he doesn't have the right kind of Slytherin mind to pull off something believeable...

(parent)

moonlitpages @ April 22 2003, 19:48:17 UTC

Yeah, I haven't quite decided whether this is a ruse to Pansy or if she thinks that she can have both- her perfect rich boyfriend that guarantees status and Millicent on the side. Either way, I don't think Millicent was consulted in this at all, ruse or no. This is definitely Millicent's way of communicating she is not okay with this.

I think if Millicent really wants to bring out the big guns she should naturally turn to j_h. It's not like he doesn't have the right kind of Slytherin mind to pull off something believeable...

*laughs!* That's what I've been thinking! Those two really need to team up and put a stop to this. Though, I think they might have a conflict of interest when all of Millicent's plans involve the breaking of PS's limbs ;-)

(parent)

flyby @ April 22 2003, 20:09:09 UTC

...although if his limbs are broken he will be helpless in a hospital bed and need taking care of. In which situation there might be certain advantages for j_h (although I can't see him actively wanting ps hurt, just taking advantage of the situation afterwards).

(parent)

moonlitpages @ April 22 2003, 20:20:47 UTC

Ooh, true. PS cannot avoid him if he is immobilized in a full body cast. *grins*

(parent)

notapipe @ April 22 2003, 20:09:41 UTC

No, I think for the big guns she should go for Ron and his chess. That would piss EVERYONE off.

(parent)

moonlitpages @ April 22 2003, 20:19:07 UTC

*laughs* I think after one morning of watching Pansy sitting on Draco's lap, feeding him fruit, Ron might be willing to comply ;-)

(parent)

notapipe @ April 22 2003, 20:22:28 UTC

Wouldn't it hurt a little to have M.B. on his lap feeding him fruit? For his lap and his mouth.

(parent)

moonlitpages @ April 22 2003, 20:25:48 UTC

*laughs!* Oh that's a priceless mental, right there *snicker*. I was actually thinking more along the lines of his wanting to do Pansy and Draco bodily harm, but I'm sure that can be arranged as well *smirk*.

(parent)

anjaliesque @ April 22 2003, 19:06:29 UTC

These are pretty good theories, and I really do suspect some of them of being true. Also, after reading the poetry on her site, I felt that Pansy really does genuinely care for M.B. So why would she go after Draco? This includes putting in all that effort for those nasty tricks on the other girls he dated. Perhaps she doesn't think that she and M.B. have much chance for the future, while a position as Malfoy's girlfriend offers a lot of power. And Pansy certainly is an ambitious girl.

(parent)

notapipe @ April 22 2003, 19:31:18 UTC

But if Pansy planned to make her posistion permenant, and became Draco's wife, she would be pressured into becoming a housewife. A pressure that would be very powerful given Lucius's hedge over the Ministry and Draco. Pansy's ambitions don't gel with housewife.

Maybe Pansy doesn't think that her posistion will be permanent, and just wants a temporary advantage from being Draco's girlfriend/beard. In that case, she might not be abandoning any hopes of permenancy with M.B. (or even planning to give up her arrangement), but is trying to have her cake and eat it too; and M.B. is taking umbrage at this.

Did you see Millicent's reply? Someone did not like the double date idea. ;)

moonlitpages @ April 22 2003, 18:58:42 UTC Re: Commenting to my own post but...

'Second base'. *rolls* Can she call it, or what? Draco had better watch his step, or he'll get more than his toes crushed. ;-)

(parent)

notapipe @ April 22 2003, 19:02:08 UTC

You'll notice Draco has not denied the contention that he has gone no further than first base with his current relationship. However, we all know that this is false for the case of Pansy, and therefore must refer to some other relationship, either with M.B. (unlikely) or Harry (which could indicate what happened). Or maybe I'm just talking out of my ass.

I love that she is 'generally fond' of Boot.

Has anyone else noticed that toob is Boot spelled backwards?

Oh, that phrase isn't idly chosen.

I pity the fool that messes with M.B.

notapipe @ April 22 2003, 19:39:30 UTC Re: M.B./Boot! OTP!

Did not notice that, thank you!

So 'generally fond' could mean "ATTN Pansy: I am not serious. Neither is he. M.B."?

(parent)

moonlitpages @ April 22 2003, 19:51:10 UTC Re: M.B./Boot! OTP!

I had not noticed that either, well spotted! I hadn't seen onourbrooms comment at the end either *laughs*. I've missed her snarky comments, I hope this means she's coming back into play :-)

Hmm, she's definitely throwing Draco's words back at them. All is not well in Slytherin House, methinks.

M.B.'s the one who 'd assisted Pansy demolishing some girls. Wouldn't she see this coming? It'd be interesting to see how Pansy handles this situation. How brilliant her manipulative skills really are.

(parent)

notapipe @ April 22 2003, 20:12:05 UTC

Or maybe not.

M.B. is harsh.

(parent)

hermione_like @ April 22 2003, 20:21:55 UTC

Yeah, as moonlitpages says here, I agree that Millicent was not let in on this ruse-or-not and is upset.

(parent)

Anonymous @ April 22 2003, 21:06:03 UTC

Yes, but Pansy'd seemed to be extremely intentional in sabotaging PS's dates and finally taking an opportunity to claim him. Would she let M.B.'s jealousy stop her? Previously, she might probably have underestimated M.B.
Gosh! Couldn't they behave like typical teenagers?

(parent)

eponis @ April 22 2003, 21:12:14 UTC

Yeah. This Pansy really, really scares me, actually. Millicent is, as far as we can tell, Pansy's closest friend, and she's not only alienating her, she's cruelly making fun of her (teasing your ?ex-lover? by saying that she's so much like your current one isn't exactly politic). It's fairly clear that Pansy doesn't overwhelmingly want to date Draco (Dude. Nobody's color is puce.), nor does she care about his parents (she isn't afraid to stand up to Lucius, and I'm sure that her regard for Narcissa is just as shallow).

What, then, does she want? Draco, I think, thinks that he knows, but I'm more and more wondering whether Pansy knows a lot more, and has a lot more up her sleeve, than anyone else in this current tangle. Draco has clearly shown her that she won't get far (or rather, she will get far - away from Hogwarts) if she's on his bad side. This current affair strikes me as proof that she's learned since then, and she scares me.

Hee. And though Pansy/Millicent is the obvious solution, I do love the thought of Terry/Millicent. So glam/goth, so delicious.

(parent)

nabiki @ April 22 2003, 22:42:44 UTC
