(no title)
I just love that she called her puppy Echo
I hope I'm not mixing my myths but...
Echo was a nymph who annoyed Hera so much that she took away all but her ability to reply, yes? Narcissus was a youth who was so in love with himself, that he failed to recognize the love of another - namely Echo - and so Echo dwindled away until nothing was left but her voice. Narcissus, however, admired himself in the stream so frequently that he eventually became a flower that grows on the shore.
I love the symbolism behind the original character's names. Good job continuing that, Mrs Malfoy.

I also think that Echo was cursed in that she could only repeat back to others the last word they had said to her. I hope this is the right myth, but something rings a bell.

that would certainly mesh with the idea of an echo, anyway.
ah, the unconditional love of (wo)man's best friend... or a wood nymph, take your pick.

Still, this is rather dis-hearting. What is the fate of Sweet Echo?
I think Sirius and Remus should make her their own little bundle of joy should Narcissa decide she doesn't want her anymore. Harry would have a younger sister.

Dog hair never comes out of anything. It is always around. The trouble has just started.
