What does he mean Draco is gone to school..?? Don't they take the train on Sept. 1? If he's not there, then where is he?

(parent)

handful @ August 30 2003, 19:42:49 UTC

I don't know.. Hm, maybe he left early and is staying with someone else? Sick of his father moping around or something?

(parent)

Anonymous @ August 30 2003, 19:45:52 UTC

His post does say he's drunk. I'm not reading too much into the Draco-at-school comment myself. From Lucius's post, I'm getting that he's probably been wandering around the Manor quite a bit lately and has been hitting the bottle often. He very likely has no clear concept of what's going on around him atm, IMO.

(parent)

handful @ August 30 2003, 19:47:09 UTC

Good call. He also could have gotten lost in the Manor, thourghly pissed, and forgotten what day it is.

It could happen!

Actually, it says Draco is almsot gone to school.

He's almost gone to school, he's not there yet.

D'oh! We were too amused by the drunky to see.

(parent)

dragynville @ August 31 2003, 13:06:41 UTC

It's been corrected since I posted then because I copied and pasted that statement directly from Lucius' post. XD

Dragynville: Ah. I missed that.

(parent)

melody2tds @ August 31 2003, 07:55:32 UTC

He says that Draco is almost</i> gone to school.
I'm thinking it means that he knows Draco is leaving shortly, and that he'll then be completely alone in the manor without Narcissa.

(parent)

dragynville @ August 31 2003, 13:08:42 UTC

It's been changed since I posted. XD

I was about to say...

And I actually feel sorry for him, the lil bastard. *sighs* I just hope that he actually straighten himself out pretty soon.

Enough that he gets his Cissa back. I've always like purestblood. Evil needs candy too, you know!

True dat!

(parent)

hobaggins @ August 30 2003, 19:55:40 UTC but why's the rum gone?

Reading this post with sloshed!Lucius makes me feel really bad for him, but I would feel worse if he didn't look so pompous in his default icon.

The worst part for Lucius, is undoubtably that once Draco is off to school, he will be essentially alone in that big manor, for the first time since he was wed I'd imagine. Let us all hope it doesn't send him headlong into his work and into more shared company with his business associates.

At least, with Draco at Hogwarts his father's influence may have a slightly weaker hold on him, the longer he spends apart.

I was looking through Draco's memories, and I always get a slight chill when I read him writing my Father. I've too much a Catholic upbringing for that not to send shivers up my spine everytime I see it

(parent)

handful @ August 30 2003, 20:15:46 UTC Re: but why's the rum gone?

I know I'm not in the majority, but I like Lucius. PArt of it I'm sure is that I RP Narcissa in another game, but also just that well... Evil needs candy too. I just feel so bad for him right now.

But man alive, that Father thing... *shivers* I'm not even Catholic and I agree with you about that.

(parent)

mimulus_arbutus @ August 30 2003, 20:49:43 UTC Re: but why's the rum gone?

i am torn between feeling bad for him and wondering whether this is inauthentic, a play for sympathy.
maybe i just can't let myself feel bad for evil lucius?

never noticed the "my father" thing though. *smacks self on head*-- bad catholic school kid! bad!

(parent)

dari_brit @ August 30 2003, 21:25:24 UTC Re: but why's the rum gone?

Yo tambien! I can't help wonder if it's calculated...but then again, Lucius has been noted as being somewhat of a chatty, emotional drunk/shiny person. My heart broke for him here, I must admit.

The best part of this post, though?

The fact that even though he's a weepy, lonely, reminiscing, un-Malfoy Malfoy right now...his memories with Narcissa include laughing about a dead sea turtle. So I'm torn between the evil and the pity, which is JUST how it should be. Kudos, player.

(fade out on Lucius looking through photographs and sipping brandy while weeping and singing along to "The Way We Were")

(parent)

handful @ August 30 2003, 21:31:35 UTC Re: but why's the rum gone?

I know... it's like, yes, totally wibbly, but a turtle? Wah!

Still, I love the little evil bastard. *hugs her Looshie plushie*

arborwin @ August 30 2003, 21:43:59 UTC

I was wondering if Narcissa's encounter with Charlie would have this effect on him ... poor bastard.

(parent)

handful @ August 30 2003, 21:48:31 UTC

And Narcissa isn't even paying attention to his comments. *pets her Looshie plushie* It's all so sad!

We have shiny. Sort of.

(parent)

YAY! She is commenting now!

... and Lucius is shiny. Right ON.

(parent)

anoni @ August 30 2003, 22:25:07 UTC

Oh, the poor dears...

(parent)

anoni @ August 30 2003, 22:57:42 UTC

Something about Lucius' drunken comments and Narcissa's replies is so horribly sad, but... she called him 'darling'.

And one other thing - before this, he never truly revealed how much the return of the ring hurt him. He never showed how helpless he felt, either. Poor bastard...

(parent)

arborwin @ August 30 2003, 23:04:48 UTC

It is heartbreaking. T_T

(parent)

handful @ August 30 2003, 23:13:45 UTC

You know, I honestly think that Narcissa just needed a break. She doesn't seem to want to divorce him. She just wants things to change. Sort of like... a renegotiation of a contract or something.

She's reminding Lucius that you can't care for someone that much and hurt them like that.

(parent)

therealycats @ August 31 2003, 00:15:13 UTC

I absolutely abhor Remus Lupin right now.

*He links to Narcissa's post at the bottom of the thread. Bastard.*

(parent)

saffronlie @ August 31 2003, 00:19:48 UTC

There was no call for Remus to even comment on that entry of Sirius's, really, and especially not to take Narcissa's words to Lucius and shove them in Sirius's face. The sentiments may be applicable, but it's not what Sirius needs to hear, again, and anyway Lupin should have said it in his own words if he was going to say anything at all.

(parent)

therealycats @ August 31 2003, 00:21:29 UTC

Lupin should stop acting like a two year old with a piece of candy (Harry) that Sirius can't have and waving it in his face. He's being a brat. He reminds me of someone I absolutely hate at the moment...and I hate that because I *do* generally like the wolf. But right now...GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

(parent)

handful @ August 31 2003, 00:35:59 UTC

Ugh. Carve my heart out with a spoon, guys. This just blows.

Stupid August. Good fucking riddence.

(parent)

muggleangel @ August 31 2003, 19:46:20 UTC

But almost over! :)

(parent)

melody2tds @ August 31 2003, 08:04:36 UTC

I honestly don't see the problem with that particular link. The meaning behind what Narcissa said to Lucius does apply. That particulay comment has no application to saying that Lupin is lording his relationship with Harry over Sirius. It simply says that Sirius will need to work out how to fix things on his own, the same as Lucius.
It's absolutely true. They ARE the ones at fault here, so it's their responsibility to fix things between their respective families.
Lucius seems to be figuring that out, even if he needs to be a tad shiny to do it...
Sirius is still just wallowing in self pity, IMO.

(parent)

therealycats @ August 31 2003, 09:51:34 UTC

It's the tone in which it seems to have been said. I realize this is all text, but that looks pretty sarcastic to me, and Sirius' short reply only supports that reading in my mind. Also, it's the comment in addition to Harry's post on a year old entry of Sirius' and Remus' making that a memory and titling it "'Atta boy." That post is solely between Harry and Sirius, and Remus had absolutely no business jumping into it. I realize it's his own memory and he didn't actually say anything onto the thread, but it's not as though Sirius is blind and can't see it.

(parent)

sistermagpie @ August 31 2003, 08:24:09 UTC

Reading Narcissa's exchanges with Lucius, who is guilty of even worse crimes than Sirius, really points up the huge differences in their relationship and the R/S. Remus had a ceremony and wedding gifts. Narcissa has a marriage. I remain perplexed why Narcissa's continued affection for Lucius doesn't both Remus at all, but oh well.

(parent)

nabiki @ August 31 2003, 00:37:44 UTC

Either I am very easily fooled or I really think that Lucius / Narcissa would / is going to / could work out....they seem to miss eachother a whole lot, whereas Sirius and Remus are being rather stubborn and not letting too much slip...I like the sentimentality between the two of them as of late :)

(parent)

handful @ August 31 2003, 00:41:36 UTC

I think you're right, honestly. Lucius/Narcissa, I honestly believe, IS going to work out.

But man, Sirius and Remus have issues the size of Texas.

Hey, I never disliked any of the characters. Ever. I adore Looshie, even though he's a totally evil bastard. I mean, come on, that's canon.

It is my life experience that no break up is one sided as far as blame goes, you know? I think that NA is just reminding us all of that lovely fact of RL.

And, let's face it, Remus is being self-rightous, Sirius is being a pill, Looshie is a cheating bastard, and Narcissa just decided NOW she didn't like that. We've all got our stories to tell.

As hard as August was/is, if we didn't have these conflicts, what would we talk about? Personally, I feel bad for them all. It's wibbly and sad to see relationships fall apart.

Especially because we do like the characters. A lot. I mean, hell, we're all ranting about them in a fancomm.

Don't be so quick to think that we all love or hate a character based off of one thing. It's a fan comm for an RPG. It's not vile or anything else.

It's just a game.

There's no way I'm not going to look stupid now, is there. ;) Possibly! *snicker*

Anyway, I just think that, like with anything, we let our emotions get involved because we care, you know? It's not that bad.

<3.

Personally, I'm just happy that people aren't posting things like how happy they are that the Malfoys "split up" or how Lucius's intestines should be removed with a crank anymore. But really, folks, why did it take so long to realise that the Malfoys just don't like showing their feelings in public? They still *have* them.

Three cheers for 3D villains.

(I would also like to add that I love all the players because if you weren't doing your jobs, public opinion would not change so rapidly with one comment. <333333333333333 x50.)

P.P.S. I so called it.
