I'm almost afraid to ask what Seamus might be up to.

I have this horrible feeling I can guess. He's trying to make Draco jealous, for Harry. Without Harry's knowledge or consent.

He's a moron.

And didn't he just say he's going to stay out of other people's businesses, too?

Just what I was thinking. I mean, whatever his plans are could work...or might not. He's not quite as on top of situations as he likes to think sometimes, imo.

That's what I like about Seamus, though. He's right about 70% of the time, but at first glance he passes for 100% on sheer charm and forwardness and enthusiasm. I love the contrast between his attractive confidence and his fallibility.

(*has been dusting off NA bookmark, sneezing happily. Am sizing up a few of your other comments for reply*)

Exactly. In a way his own sophistication about sex and relationships seems to sabotage him with these two. What he's saying on the surface makes sense, but it could so blow up in the face of these two. First because Draco's so wildly sensitive to the idea of being rejected for someone better, and he already seems to be trying to look for an excuse to run away from the relationship, which this would provide.

Harry, meanwhile, just seems so committed to honesty about these kinds of things, and I think he's really wary of the kind of superficial admiration Seamus' plan would get him. What Seamus thinks would be a boost to his self-esteem (look how all the girls and guys want you!) might just be depressing to Harry (you'll be forever lonely in a crowd of strangers who are fans).

But as you say, this is exactly what makes Seamus interesting.

I also thought it was kind of interesting how both H&D seemed to retreat to their "neutral corners." Harry wanted to spend time with Ron, Draco with M.B., both of whom support the H/D. On one hand it could be running away (like Draco running to his hole and Harry to his bathroom) but otoh it does seem to show a common agreement that they don't want other people involved.

Can't wait to find out what's up with him. :>

Ach, but Harry's post is getting me all teary about how they're graduating soon. No! Everyone, stay back a year, or something!
