It sounds like Ron has made some kind of headway on Pansy's Box although he's not saying anymore.
maybe he did finally manage to open it in spite of what Draco thought

Yeah, you do wonder if his "Shush, I'll tell you about that later," refers to some interesting developments besides getting the thing actually open. I can't imagine Pansy's box would offer anything but trouble.:-)
